After our re-launch party at Club Auslage with Dario Zenker we bring you another top player in the European Techno business.

STEVE RACHMAD aka STERAC is a well-respected producer, remixer and DJ since the mid-90s.
He is one of the most formative artists in the Dutch Techno scene and known for his unique Detroit influenced sounds that already gave him the title “Father of Detroit Techno in the Netherlands”.

The Amsterdam based label 100% PURE was his home base in the beginning years. He released many records on there.
And also the record imprint MUSIC MAN was an important output channel for many years.

In the past two decades he used a number of monikers to express his versatile taste in music…

PARALLEL 9 was his Basic-Channel influenced approach to make music. His three-track-EP “Dominus” on Music Man is a perfect example of timeless, dubby and peaceful Techno.
CONTINUOUS COOL expressed his housey variations. Very danceable stuff that gave him even a chance to release on the legendary US house label STRICTLY RHYTHM.
IGNATIO was his rather hypnotic, faster Techno project. We all remember his big tunes “Evolving” and “Vitron” which have been played by many DJs at around the 2000s.
With DREG he described his very industrial, cold and monotone side. Rough machine Techno.
And let’s not forget STERAC ELECTRONICS which gave us a deeper insight into his passion for Detroit electro, inspired by legends like Aux 88 or Drexciya. His track “Atlantis” was some kind of hymn in this genre a few years back.

Steve is still very active. He has just released two new EPs on DELSIN and KLOCKWORKS.

He stays true to his pure analogue approach and impresses with his exquisite ear for technical qualities of sound, a talent which he also applies for DJing.
At the age of 15 he started spinning records in clubs and he has been on the line-ups of many festivals ever since.

Just recently he commited a guest mix for the well-known Resident Advisor podcast and also had his debut appearance for Boiler Room TV at the DEKMANTEL festival this summer.

Steve is a talented, full blooded musician and we’re happy to have him here in Vienna at Club Auslage for a Sterac-styled Techno set.
