CHANCHA VIA CIRCUITO [Crammed Discs / Buenos Aires]
We are more than happy to welcome Pedro back in Vienna for his only live show in Austria in 2014!
Argentian producer Pedro Canale aka Chancha Via Circuito returns from a three-year sojourn with his long awaited third album, Amansara. Cover-Art for Amansara comes from Argentinian psychedelic folklore painter Paula Duro who has crafted the look of all of Chancha’s previous releases. Originally coming out of Buenos Aires's famed digital cumbia scene, Chancha has notoriously broken way outside those boundaries to forge unprecedented mergers between Brazilian rhythms, Paraguayan harp, Andean mysticism and the solitude of Argentinian folklore - all processed through his own futuristic style of electronic South America. Chancha's sound is without question truly unique and instantly recognizable to the point he has become a key reference point for an entire crop of artists that have begun to carry his genes.
Hailed by the Washington Post, the New York Times, Pitchfork, NPR and countless others, Chancha Via Circuito defies even the shrewdest of marketing geniuses. On one hand, he is something of a cult artist within micro-circles of electronic music, having been invited to perform at Montreal's MUTEK, Fusion Festival as well as the Roskilde and Vive Latino Festivals. At the same time, Chancha's music has found broad appeal outside of the avant-garde, most notably his magnificent remix of José Larralde's "Quimey Neuquén" which was heavily featured in 2013 as part of the final season of the critically acclaimed television series Breaking Bad. Fans of the show undoubtedly remember Walter White burying his millions in the desert, soundtracked by the wide and gentle grooves of Chancha Via Circuito.
Witness an almost shamanistic live performance that carries its own landscape.

SALAH ADDIN & FRIENDS [Khartoum / Sudan]
The music of Salah Addin & Friends is multidimensional, personal and visionary. The format consists in general of 3 - 4 musicians with the possibility of being expanded. The typical Sudanese percussion determines the steady flow of Salah-Addin's music; typical is the 6/8 rhythm, which gives the music its unique character of Desert Blues. Combining also aspects of Afrobeat and Reggae, a fascinating sound mosaic with a kaleidoscopic spectrum is formed. One can also hear and feel touches of spirituality due to Sufi influences. The lyrics, sung in English and Arabic, are profound and expand the music to an Eastern flair. Although rooted in traditional sudanese music, the band's sound spans far beyond that. From the past to the present and into the future.
A musical journey that moves the body, provokes the intellect and elevates the soul.

SUPERSKIN [sama recordings, Baba Vanga / Vienna]
Andreas Klotz aka Superskin creates airy, lofi-encrusted, polytextural compositions that revel in an opium haze. Following a dub-infected sequence of rhythmic structures, slabs of luscious melody seduce only to roll back and reappear to lull the listener into a state of zen-like trance.
After his last album on Baba Vanga earlier this year, Superskin returns with another etheral, transcendental statement: Superskin's third album "Tremors" is the starting point for a series of tape releases on sama recordings and will be released November 27th, 2014 (samatape001).
Way - future electronic music with a great sense for analogue warmth!

Cher Monsieur is one truly devoted dance-cosmopolist. Lead by a sure hand for exotica and obscurities his fingers have digged through the heart of darkness, built castles on the sandy shores of Rio, held the reins of the normads’ camels, changed the strings of shabby gypsy guitars, have clapped the castanets to the proudest flamenco dances, ... and they are still not weighted down with weariness at all, always eager to work that vinyl collection of pure black gold for the sake of a world-spanning, body-moving education in dance.

Sweet harmonies don't exclude noisy drones. Musical styles dont matter, if it comes to the point when excitation, tension or even silence is created within compositions. My focus of interest lies in the ever changing souls of music.Because human beings tend to be guided (and sometimes also faked) by bits and pieces of musical expression which are constantly invading their brains and hearts, i decided in a harsh and lonely winternight of 2004 to drift on athmospherical soundscapes, destruct fieldrecordings and fool around with analogue synth- and drum modules for the rest of my life in search of sonorical wonderland.
Grounded & spiraled out. The journey continues.
