About / Biography

Placed firmly at the epicentre of Bristol's currently buoyant house music scene, Shanti Celeste​ has already proved her salt as a multi-talented artist over the course of the last 12 months. From her work as producer, DJ, vocalist, label-owner and promoter, what's strikingly clear from all of it is connoisseur's taste in house, disco, techno and electro that belies her young age.

Earning her stripes behind the counter at Bristolian record shopping institution Idle Hands​, Chilean-born Celeste has gradually become one of the city's finest purveyors of swung and funky electronic rhythms in a variety of guises, definitely highlighted by the range and quality of her production output so far.

Be it on the toughened up NY garage-inflections of her debut on her own BRSTL imprint (which she she runs with Rhythmic Theory and Idle Hands boss, Chris Farrell), the hazed-out vocal house of her 12" on Idle Hands, or the mix of melodically rich techno, electro and house on her EP of Julio Bashmore's Broadwalk imprint, what's apparent on all of them is Shanti#s passion for club tracks that not only make you dance, but have the power to unify a room.
