Line up

Raised on rhythms of the Argentinian backwoods, Lagartijeando dips his dance tracks in country folk gold where chacareras, huaynos, and vidalas two step with jungle and electronica. Shaman chant and charango guitar loops are the backbone of Zundel's signature style. Native voices are the backbeat to percussion and bass tracks with organ melodies combining cumbia and psychedelic noise. Songs give deference to ritual and maintain respect for tradition while pushing the old into a cosmic space future. Step onto the Lagartijeando dance floor - desert covered in a storm of stars.

Lagartigeando was signed to the infamous ZZK Records in 2009 (Chancha Via Circuito, Nicola Cruz, etc.) on which he released his first EP Neobailongo— a mix of cumbias with electro and dubstep elements. After releasing the EP, Mati soon took to the road and dove deeper into the music
of the Andes, studying charango and various traditional folk styles. In 2012, under the name Mati Zundel, he released his first full length album Amazonico Gravitante, via ZZK as well as Waxploitation (Gnarls Barkley, Danger Mouse) in the U.S. Some more miles later, Mati released his second LP Cardos Redondo also on Waxploitation, which featured 8 songs recorded across Latin America— an album he calls an ‘imaginary sound map of
Latin America,’ Freshly into 2017, Mati brings us El Gran Poder and Gran Poder Remix via Wonderwheel (Novalima, Alsarah & The Nubatones)— named after an important Aymara festival that takes place in Bolivia and Peru, purely to celebrate family. At these festivals, the community also celebrates their culture and the
importance of the collective identity. Like these festivals, the album is a celebratory one, and will tempt any listener out of their seat.

Mati will be hitting Europe this summer with a fresh live set that incorporates singing with live looping of traditional folkloric instruments, such as the zamponia, charango and trutruka, playing some of the leading tracks off of his new records Gran Poder and Gran poder Remix (2018) , he will be promoting the release of Coro Chelaalapi Remixes, a remix project produced by Mati with the indigenous Toba people in Argentina featuring various electronic producers from Argentina in which he also participates with one of the remix tracks, sponsored by the Argentine national government to be released this late spring on ZZK Records.
