STELIOS MANOUSAKIS (GR/NL)

Stelios Manousakis (GR/NL) is a composer, performer, sound artist and researcher, and a current composer-in-residene with Kultur Kontakt Austria and BMUK. He operates across the convergence zones of art, science and engineering, composition, performance and installation, art music and underground ‘digital folk’ idioms. His work is visceral yet cerebral, communicating through pure, raw experiece while being complex and multilayered.
At Klub Moozak he will perform a two-part cybernetic/feedback solo set, using self-made instruments and software: Palpebla Resonoj #1 (‘Palpable Resonances’) is an exploration of hybrid acoustics through the resonances and dynamic behaviors of a sonic chimera - a feedback-augmented electro-acoustic clarinet - with nods to jazz, balkan folk and distortion-friendly rock musics. Fantasia On A Single Number, from the digital feedback suite Primeval Sonic Atoms, is a sonic exploration of the intrinsic nature of digital technology through the merging of vocabularies and approaches from different - often seemingly clashing - realms of electronic music: noise, no-input and glitch, with electroacoustic composition, with improvisation, with the most vibrant hardcore tekno.

R. SCHWARZ (AT)

R. Schwarz has developed a singular body of work around sound, space and architecture in various artistic and experimental settings. His approach is complemented by ongoing research in sound studies, that sets the basis for his artistic work, which comprises installations, objects as well as music.
He has studied architecture and computer music in Vienna and Sound Studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. Within his work, those fields are merging to new and poetic dimensions.
His works have been presented at museums and festivals as Ars Electronica – Linz 2012, Club Transmediale – Berlin 2010, Singuhr Hörgalerie – Berlin, Haus der Kulturen der Welt – Berlin, Moscow International Biennale for Young Art 2012, Wiener Festwochen 2007, TONSPUR für einen öffentlichen raum and Kunsthalle Wien.
Further he is founding member of the transdisciplinary design agency mostlikely and the Berlin sound art collective Berg26, was a member of the Vienna Noise Orchestra, composed and produced the music for the band Madchen Amick, performed as Modularsynthorchester with Patrick Pulsinger and Sebastian Niessen, did the audio processing for Georg Nussbaumer ́s 16 hours Wagner-marathon Ringlandschaft mit Bierstrom at the Donaueschinger Musiktage 2013 and lately joined Sonic Mmabolela, the annual South African residency for composers initiated by Francisco Lopez.
R.Schwarz will perform his latest works of exceptionally deep Musique Concrète, adapted for four channel audio playback: Isolated and augmented fragments of fixed sound, captured from nonmusical contexts, disconnected from its origin, elaborately processed and arranged to utopian, surreal soundscapes, tectonically shifting through space!
